This represents the number of teaching hours by GEOS faculty, instructors, adjuncts, etc. for full academic years. It is strongly influenced by low-level, high enrollment courses like General Geology and Human Geography. For example, if GEOS teaches General Geology lecture/lab (4 hrs) with 600 students, this would add 4 x 600 = 2400 SSCH to the GEOS total. In the long run, GEOS teaching assistantship count assigned by the College responds to SSCH numbers.
